More bankruptcies filed in October in Finland

A total of 339 bankruptcy proceedings were instigated in October 2024, which is 70 more than in the corresponding period of the previous year, according to Statistics Finland.

The number of staff-years in enterprises that filed for bankruptcy totalled 1,469, which is 305 staff-years more than in October 2023.

In October 2024, the 12-month moving annual change in enterprises that filed for bankruptcy was 11 per cent.

The number of bankruptcy petitions decreased in manufacturing and construction and increased in all other industries compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
