Prices of old single houses drop by 5.5% in Q3 Y-on-Y

Prices of old one-dwelling houses fell by 5.5 per cent in the third quarter of 2024 from the stipulated period of previous year and by 1.5 per cent from the previous quarter, according to Statistics Finland.
Around 4 per cent fewer transactions of old one-dwelling houses were made than in the corresponding period one year earlier.
Prices of old one-dwelling houses rose by 3.7 per cent in large towns but fell by 8.2 per cent in the rest of the country from one year back in the third quarter of 2024.
Prices of one-dwelling house plots rose by 2.8 per cent in the whole country compared to one year earlier.
Transactions of old one-dwelling houses decreased most in municipalities with under 20,000 inhabitants, where 7 per cent fewer transactions were made than one year earlier.
About 2.5 per cent more transactions of one-dwelling house plots were made than in the corresponding period of the previous year.
Prices of new one-dwelling houses fell by 3.0 per cent from the previous year and by 0.6 per cent from the previous quarter.
