Turnover of construction drops by 2.1% in Oct Y-on-Y

The working day adjusted turnover of construction enterprises decreased by 2.1 per cent in October 2024 compared to the previous year, according to Statistics Finland.

The volume of sales, from which the impact of price changes has been eliminated, went up by 1.7 per cent.

The increase in the sales volume of construction was significantly affected by risen sales volume in civil engineering

Working day adjusted turnover in building construction fell by 7.0 per cent and sales volume by 3.3 per cent in October 2024 compared to one year before.

In turn, working day adjusted turnover in civil engineering increased by 11.1 per cent and sales volume by 12.4 per cent from the previous year.

Turnover in specialised construction activities went down by 1.9 per cent and sales volume grew by 2.0 per cent from one year earlier.

Seasonally adjusted turnover in construction increased by 1.3 per cent in October 2024 compared to September.

Seasonally adjusted sales volume went up by 1.7 per cent from September.
