Posti delivers 1.5m parcels during Black Friday week

National postal and logistic services operator Posti delivered about 1.5 million parcels during the Black Friday week, said Posti in a press release on Monday.

This year, Black Friday fell on November 29. However, many stores already started their sales campaigns on the previous week. There have been plenty of parcels on the move during the whole Black Week.

“The Christmas season is a busy time for us. Black Friday has once again kicked off the busiest weeks in parcel deliveries. We have prepared ourselves for example by hiring 1,700 seasonal workers and growing our network during the year. We have opened over 100 new parcel lockers this year and are delivering parcels to popular locations also on Saturdays,” said Posti’s Vice President Kaj Kulp.

The number of Posti parcels containing second-hand goods has grown five times this November, when compared to last year.
