Egg production rises by 5% in 2024

About 79 million kilograms of eggs were produced in Finland in 2024, which is five percent more than in 2023, according to Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke).

In the first half of 2024, production increased by two percent, and in the second half by eight percent compared to the previous year.

The production of barn eggs increased by 7%, organic eggs increased by 8% and free range eggs by 31%, while the production of egg from enriched cages decreased by 5%.

About 68% of production was for barn eggs, 21% eggs from enriched cages, 6% organic eggs and 4% free range eggs.
