New car registration drops by 15% in Finland last year

A total of 74,072 new passenger cars were registered in Mainland Finland in 2024, which was 15 per cent fewer than in 2023, according to Statistics Finland.
In all, 129,384 new vehicles were registered in 2024. First registrations decreased by 14 per cent compared to 2023.
A total of 74,276 new passenger cars were registered in Finland.
Of first-time registered passenger cars in Mainland Finland, 30 per cent were fully electric.
The number of electric car registrations was 21,869, which was 26 per cent fewer than in 2023.
Used imported passenger cars numbered 43,227, which was 13 per cent more than in 2023.
