Finnish vehicle stock grows by 1.2% in 2024

The Finnish vehicle register contained 7,337,934 vehicles at the end of 2024 and 5,257,813 of the vehicles were in traffic use, according to Statistics Finland.

The total number of registered vehicles grew by 1.2 per cent and the number of vehicles in traffic use increased 0.2 per cent compared with the situation at the end of 2023.

At the end of 2024, there were 3,782,427 registered passenger cars in Finland, which was one per cent more than one year earlier.

Of the car, 2,794,387 were in traffic use, which was 0.4 per cent more than in 2023.

At the end of 2024, there were 121,539 fully electric passenger cars registered in Mainland Finland, which was 41 per cent more than in 2023.

The average age of passenger cars in traffic use was 13.6 years in Mainland Finland. The average age has risen by 0.4 years from 2023.
