New car registration drops by 11% in February in Finland

A total of 4,784 new passenger cars were registered in February 2025, which was 11 per cent fewer than one year earlier, according to Statistics Finland.

In all, 8,185 new vehicles were registered in February. First registrations decreased by 11 per cent from the corresponding month of the previous year.

In January to February period of 2025, a total of 10,529 new passenger cars were registered, which was 12 per cent fewer than one year earlier.

Of first-time registered passenger cars in February 2025, 33 per cent were fully electric.

The number of the registrations of electric car was 1,563, or 18 per cent higher than one year earlier.

A total of 1,982 new petrol-fueled passenger cars were registered in February, which was 19 per cent fewer than one year earlier.
