Pork, beef productions rise, sheep meat drops in Finland in 2024

The productions of beef and port increased in Finland in 2024 while the production of sheep meat decreased, according to the Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke).

A total of to 161 million kilograms of port and 87 million kilograms of beef were produced in the country in last year.

The productions of both the meat increased by one percent compared to the productions in the previous year.

But production of Sheep meat continued to decline and a total of 1 million kilograms were produced in 2024.

Pork production was highly concentrated in South Ostrobothnia, Southwest Finland and Ostrobothnia. These regions accounted for almost 64% of pork production.

North Ostrobothnia and South Ostrobothnia produced the highest amount of beef.

The highest production of sheep meat was in Southwest Finland.
