The government has prepared a draft law with the provision for submitting mandatory job application by the unemployed people at least once a week, according to national broadcaster Yle.
The Ministry of Employment prepared the bill, which said that if any jobless person does not apply for at least one job a week, he or she may loss unemployment benefits for two months.
The government, however, said that the new law is aiming to increase the employment rate of the country to 72% from the existing 68.8%.
The draft law also said that local employment offices will no more design employment strategy for an unemployed person ultimately and the jobseekers need to apply for jobs either finding out by themselves, or as per the recommendation of the employment office, said the Yle report.
