The year-on-year rise in consumer prices stood at 1.4 per cent in July, according to Statistics Finland.
In June, the rate of inflation stood at 1.2 per cent. The rise in inflation from June to July was caused by higher prices of cigarettes, petrol and hotel rooms.
Consumer prices were raised most in July by increases in the prices of cigarettes and fuels and costs of renovations from one year ago.
The rise in consumer prices from one year back was curbed most by reductions in the prices of children’s day-care services, refundable prescription medicines, mobile phones, outdoor clothes, and televisions.
From June to July, consumer prices changed by -0.1 per cent caused by price decline in women’s clothes, for example.
