The Rovaniemi-based Lappset Group Oy and the global toy company Mattel Inc have joined hands to set up Mattel Play!, an interactive, indoor family entertainment centre, at Sevenum, North Limburg Peel in the Netherlands, scheduled to open this fall.
This will be the second family entertainment center for Mattel supplied by Lappset Creative, a division of Lappset Group, Europe’s leading manufacturer of playground and fitness park equipment and themed activity attractions. Dubbed Mattel Play! Sevenum, it will also be the first branded attraction of its kind in the Netherlands and Benelux.
The first Mattel Play! Edutainment Centre was opened in Liverpool, at the Albert Docks, for Heritage Great Britain in 2016. Mattel Play! Sevenum is the second and largest family edutainment centre designed, produced and assembled by Lappset Creative in collaboration with its partners Mattel and De Schatberg, a five-star vacation park in Sevenum, said a Lappset press release.
“The design work has already been completed. The next phase is manufacturing of products and construction of the site. The site will be completed later this year,” Lappset Communication Manager Irma Kuukasjarvi told the Daily Finland.
Mattel Play! Sevenum will be built inside the new Family Entertainment Centre (FEC) Sevenum located on the site of De Schatberg. It will feature play zones based on several Mattel characters including Thomas & Friends, Fireman Sam, Angelina Balerina, and Bob the Builder. Kids can also build their own creations at the Mega Construx and Mega Bloks zones.
The park will offer children and parents an opportunity to play together and enjoy quality family time. Through the unique setting of this interactive entertainment centre, visitors would be able to immerse themselves in familiar brand environments with their favourite characters, letting their imaginations run wild. Children would be given building blocks and the opportunity to be as creative as they can be. Finally, children and parents can stay active together as they run, jump, climb, and play through various activities.
Besides Mattel Play! Sevenum, the multi-activity FEC Sevenum will house ABC Restaurants Sevenum, an all-you-can-eat restaurant with 11 different kitchens, and an activity centre for youth called the Portal Action House, also developed by Lappset Creative. The Portal Action House has several levels where you can exercise your skills on a pump track, a skating ramp, trampolines, and a freestyle action park. All of these levels are set in a virtual world. You are going to play the game in real life!
Lappset Creative Director Johan Granholm said Mattel Play! Sevenum is the largest project Lappset Group has ever delivered. “The multimillion euro project is already well under way. The design phase has already been completed, and manufacturing will begin now with full installation scheduled for the late autumn this year.”
Lappset Group which exports its products to more than 50 countries worldwide has several other projects in the pipeline, chipped in Irma Kuukasjarvi.
