Finland sees €450m trade deficit in July

Finland’s trade deficit stood at 450 million euros in July, according to the preliminary statistics of international trade in goods provided by Finnish Customs.

Last year the trade balance for July showed a deficit of 333 million euros, said an official press release.

Calculated from January to July there was a deficit of almost 1.2 billion euros. Under the same period last year the balance of trade showed a deficit of over 1.4 billion euros.

In July, the value of Finnish exports increased by five per cent and the value of imports by seven per cent year-on-year.

The value of Finnish exports in July was almost five billion euros and the value of imports was 5.4 billion euros. Calculated from the beginning of the year, exports have increased by seven per cent and imports by six per cent.

Finnish exports to EU member states increased by two per cent in July and to non-EU countries by eight per cent, while imports from EU countries increased by six per cent and from non-EU countries by eight per cent.
