Construction enterprises turnover raises by 8.8% in June-Aug

The turnover of construction enterprises grew by 8.8 per cent in June to August, according to Statistics Finland.

In the corresponding period one year earlier, the growth was somewhat lower, 6.9 per cent from one year earlier.

The sales volume of construction grew by 3.4 per cent in June to August.

The growth was strongest in building construction, where the turnover was 15.1 per cent higher in June to August than one year earlier. The turnover of specialised construction activities went up by 4.8 per cent. The turnover in civil engineering, which declined during the beginning of the year, made an upturn of 3.9 per cent in the June to August reference period.

In June to August, the sales volume of construction enterprises increased by 9.9 per cent in building construction from one year earlier.

The sales volume of specialised construction activities remained at the same level as one year before. The sales volume of civil engineering went down by 0.3 per cent.

The volume index of enterprises’ sales is calculated by removing the effect of price changes from the turnover index series.
