Building costs go up slightly

The costs for construction works and materials increased slightly in the country in February this year compared to the prices in the previous year, said Statistics Finland.
According to Statistics Finland, building costs rose by 0.3 per cent in February 2017 from one year back.
The prices of materials went up by 0.8 per cent and the prices of services by 1.3 per cent.
The prices of labour inputs in construction, in turn, fell by 0.6 per cent compared with February of the previous year.
The fall in the prices of labour inputs is explained by lower social security costs compared with 2016.
From January to February, the total index of building costs fell by 0.1 per cent.
The prices of labour inputs went down by 0.2 per cent and the prices of materials by 0.1 per cent. The prices of services remained unchanged from the previous month.
