President honours 30 mothers on Mother´s Day

The contributions of mothers received state recognition on Sunday with 30 mothers of the country being were honoured by President Sauli Niinistö for their merits in raising children.

The President and First Lady Jenni Haukio attended the national Mother's Day ceremony at the House of the Estates, said the President Office in a press release on Monday.

At the ceremony, decorations were awarded to 30 mothers recognised for their merits in raising children.

The First Class Medals with Gold Cross of the Order of the White Rose of Finland were presented to mothers who have made significant

contributions to raising children and shown joint responsibility also outside their own family, as well as to mothers who have borne great responsibility for the members of their family needing special help.
