A huge acrylic portrait of Taylor Swift is being created in the western German city of Gelsenkirchen, which is hosting three shows on the pop superstar's record-breaking Eras Tour, reported dpa.
The artwork will be 90 square metres in size and three-dimensional - depending on the perspective, it will seem as if Swift is jumping out of the ground towards the viewer.
It took artists Vanessa and Lydia Hitzfeld four days to paint the artwork in the centre of Gelsenkirchen. Vanessa specializes in 3D street art and has been painting projects together with her mother Lydia for several years.
"What particularly appeals to me is that you can use it later. It's not hanging in some gallery or in someone's home, it's out in public," said Vanessa. "And people have fun with it."
Getting into the painting is expressly encouraged. Fans can stand on the painting at various points and take photos with Swift's likeness.
In addition to the musician's face, the three-dimensional painting will also show many details associated with her and her music, such as butterflies, symbolizing her debut album, Swift's lucky number 13, and a snake, which stands for her sixth studio album "Reputation."
The picture should be ready on Tuesday evening, just in time for the first concert. The US singer will play three shows in Gelsenkirchen on July 17, 18 and 19.
The city is expecting to host around 200,000 fans, according to spokesman Markus Schwardtmann. Further German shows will then follow in Hamburg and Munich.
