Cultural Centre Kino Caisa will start to screening movie on October 1 October as a part of its new initiative this autumn, said the City of Helsinki in a press release on Wednesday.

The Cultural Centre Caisa promotes diversity and inclusion through arts and culture.

Kino Caisa’s programme will highlight people, stories and storytellers who are often invisible in mainstream movies.

Multilanguage movies or those from different language areas also highlight professional movie-makers who represent minorities.

“I hope that Kino Caisa’s movies will be thought-provoking and offer new perspectives on humanity and the world. I also hope they will increase understanding of the diversity of humanity,” said Johanna Rissanen, Producer, Cultural Events of Caisa.

Two movies will be screening every Tuesday at 2:00 pm and 6:00 p.m.

“Hopefully, the low-priced tickets of seven euros will also bring the movie experience to more people,” said Rissanen.

The language of the movies is English.

The October programme, which is curated by movie event connoisseur Diego Ginartes, will include the movies You Resemble Me, Costa Brava, Lebanon, Bacurau and Prism.

More movies will be added to Kino Caisa’s programme during the autumn.
