The nominations for the 82nd Golden Globe Awards were announced Monday, and "Emilia Pérez" and "The Bear" are the top nominees on film and TV side, respectively, reported Xinhua.

French musical crime film "Emilia Pérez," acquired by Netflix, led the film nominees with 10 nods, including for best motion picture -- musical or comedy, directing and acting. Directed by Jacques Audiard, the film, starring Zoe Saldana, Selena Gomez and Karla Sofia Gascón, follows a cartel boss transitioning to an authentic new life.

"Emilia Pérez" was followed by A24's historical drama film "The Brutalist" with seven nods and Focus Features' mystery thriller film "Conclave" with six nods.

On the TV side, FX/Hulu's psychological comedy-drama "The Bear" earned the most nominations with five, followed by Hulu's "Only Murders in the Building" and FX/Hulu's "Shogun" with four, respectively.

The 82nd Golden Globe Awards ceremony is set to air live on Jan. 5, 2025 on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.

The Golden Globes usually herald the quasi-official kick-off of the Hollywood award season. The voting body for the Golden Globes currently numbers 334 and is made up of experienced entertainment journalists representing 85 countries, according to the award's website.

As a premier entertainment awards show since 1944, run by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), the annual Golden Globes has honored achievements in both television and film. In 2023, HFPA was rebranded to Golden Globe Foundation, and all Golden Globe Awards assets and intellectual property were acquired by a joint venture between Eldridge and Dick Clark Productions.
