Helsinki Education Week will this year be organised as a series of online events from November 2-8, said a press release of the City of Helsinki on Monday.
The event week offers a diverse programme, including workshops, lectures, discussions, exchanges of experiences, and networking. The virtual implementation enables participation from all over Finland and the world.
This year’s theme, Learning by Design, will be implemented and experienced in a variety of ways during the event week. The programme focuses on cooperation, well-being and e-learning.
The programme is targeted at different stakeholders: teachers and other education professionals, children and student groups, parents and guardians – essentially, at anyone interested in learning and its development. All events are free of charge.
“At Helsinki Education Week, we want to share experiences about creative solutions and innovative ways of working that can be used both now and in the future. The week’s programme reflects how people in education have shaped the doing and learning according to the circumstances. Despite the exceptional circumstances, we want to come together virtually to learn from each other and to look confidently towards the future”, said Liisa Pohjolainen, Head of the City of Helsinki’s Education Division.
This year, Helsinki Education Week will be organised for the third time. Unlike previous years, the programme will be held entirely online. Over 160 event proposals were submitted to the event week, and over 100 were selected to the programme. Helsinki Education Week is organised by the City of Helsinki’s Education Division in collaboration with HundrED.
