Application to Finnish universities´ English programmes begins

The first joint application of the spring to universities and universities of applied sciences ( polytechnics) in Finland is beginning on Wednesday, said the Finnish National Agency for Education in a press release on Tuesday.

The joint application scheduled to start at 8:00 am on 5 January and will continue till 19 January at 15:00.

The application form can be filled at Studyinfo.fi. No registration or login is required in order to apply.

The joint application to higher education in the spring is divided into two separate joint applications. In the present first joint application of the spring, students can apply to study programmes taught in English, as well as study programmes provided by University of the Arts.

There are 322 study programmes in English available in the first joint application, 156 of which are universities of applied science study programmes and 166 are provided by universities.

A total of about 6000 study places are available in the first joint application, which is 500 more than year ago.

The application period for the second joint application runs from 16 March to 30 March later this year. In the second joint application of the spring, students can apply to higher education study programmes taught in Finnish or Swedish.

One students can apply to a maximum of six study programmes in every joint application.

In the first joint application, there is no need to prioritize the order of the selected study programmes when applying. Each applicant can be accepted to all study programmes for which they are eligible and successful enough.

However, each applicant can only accept one offer of admission for studies starting in the same semester.

The first results from the joint application will be published in early February. All results will be published at 3 June at the latest.
