The first joint application to universities and universities of applied sciences (Polytechnic Institutes) has begun on Wednesday, said the Finnish National Agency For Education in a press release.
The application period will be ended on January 17 and the application can be completed online at studyinfo.fi.
The joint application contains a total of about 8,300 study places, which is about 1,000 more than a year ago.
In the joint application, applicants apply for higher education programmes in English starting in the autumn, for degree programmes offered by the University of the Arts and for the theatre study programme at Tampere University.
The joint application includes 283 study programmes, of which 110 are at universities of applied sciences and 173 at universities.
A maximum of six study programmes can be applied for in each joint application. In the spring joint application for study programmes offered in English, study programmes do not need to be listed in order of preference.
The applicant can be accepted to several study programmes. However, the applicant can only accept one study place in a programme leading to a university degree that begins in the same semester.
The results of the joint application to programmes in English will be published from early February onwards. All results will be published by May 31, 2024.
The joint application to higher education institutions has been split into two separate joint applications in the spring.
The second joint application of the spring is March 13 to March 27 and includes degree programmes offered in Finnish and Swedish.
