Vantaa welcomes to a city-wide parents’ evening on 21st March!

The first years of a child are essential for the development of literacy and linguistic skills. Reading aloud to an infant has been found particularly beneficial. Good literacy is a key factor in for example prevention of marginalization.
The city-wide parents’ evening in Vantaa will provide tips and information on how to support children in literacy and the benefits of reading, accordingly to the City of Vantaa.
The event is intended for parents of children of all ages living in Vantaa.

Speaking in the event are Emmi Jäkkö and Vilma Tammelin from The Finnish Reading Centre and Emily Hallfast and Marjut Lahtela from Vantaa libraries.
The event is held in Finnish with an option for live translation in subtitles.
