No Finnish university secures place in world´s top 100 universities

None of the Finnish universities secured place in the list of the best 100 universities in the world, according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025, published on Wednesday.

The Helsinki University ranked 107 to become the top among the Finnish universities.

The Aalto University ranked 196th in the 2025 global ranking, secured second position among the universities in Finland, followed by Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology- LUT and University of Oulu ranked in the bracket of 251 to 300, Tampere University and University of Turku in the bracket of 301 to 350 and University of Jyväskylä and University of Vaasa in the bracket of 401 to 500.

University of Oxford ranked top on the global list for the ninth consecutive year, followed by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Harvard University, University of Princeton University of Cambridge, Stanford University, California Institute of Technology, University of California, Berkeley, Imperial College London and Yale University.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025 included more than 2000 institutions from 115 countries and territories.

The Finnish universities also failed to secure place in the list of the best 100 universities in the world last year, according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
