The first joint application to universities and universities of applied sciences (Polytechnic Institutes) started on January 8 and will continue until January 22, said the Finnish National Agency For Education in a recent press release.

Students can apply via Studyinfo where students can apply to programmes in English as well as programmes offered by the University of the Arts.

The joint application started on 8 January at 8:00 and ending on 22 January at 15:00.

Students can apply to higher education programmes in English starting in the autumn and to degree programmes offered by the University of the Arts.

The joint application includes 431 study programmes, of which 216 are at universities of applied sciences (Polytechnic Institutes) and 215 at universities.

A total of about 8,600 study places are available.

Most of the applicants applying to English-taught degree programmes are from outside the EU, EEA or Switzerland, and as such they are required to pay tuition fees.

Starting from 1 Jan 2025, they are also required to pay an application fee of 100 euros to apply to Bachelor's or Master's level studies in Finland.

A maximum of six study programmes can be applied for in each joint application. The applicant can be accepted to several study programmes.

However, applicants can only accept one offer of admission in a programme leading to a university degree that begins in the same semester.

The results of the joint application to programmes in English will be published from early February onwards. All results will be published by Wednesday 28 May 2025.
