2 IS terrorists killed in central Russia

Russian enforcement officers killed two armed members of the Islamic States (IS) terrorist group in the Tyumen city in Russia's western Siberia, the country's Investigative Committee said Saturday.

The militants, hiding in a private house in Tyumen, were eliminated by officers of the Federal Security Service at a counter-terrorist operation, the committee said in a statement.

Weapons and ammunition as well as extremist religious literature were found and seized at the place where the suspects were located, it said.

Investigations aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident are underway, the committee said.

Regional investigative bodies of the committee has initiated a criminal case on the grounds of preparation for premeditated murder of two or more persons and intentional harm to law enforcement officers, according to the committee.
