Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reaffirmed Ukraine's European integration path and promised that the country will fulfill its obligations under the Association Agreement during the second day of his official visit to Brussels on Wednesday.

"Ukraine should continue its movement towards the European Union (EU). European integration is a guarantee of the independence of Ukrainian state, the well-being of the Ukrainian people, the base for the economic and technological growth," said the president at a briefing after the meeting with President of the European Council Donald Tusk.

Zelensky reassured that Ukraine will fulfill its obligations under the Association Agreement with the EU. He pointed out that European integration is primarily about the implementation of systemic internal changes and reforms.

The two leaders confirmed that the next Ukraine-EU summit will be held in Kiev on July 8.

Zelensky arrived in Brussels on his first foreign visit on Tuesday as president of Ukraine. He will hold meetings with EU and NATO leaders during the two-day visit.

The Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, which includes a free trade deal and a broad range of legislation and regulation topics, came into force on Sept.1, 2017.
