On a military training base in Ossendrecht, in the Dutch province of North Brabant, fourteen students from a military academy got injured after a lightning strike, the Netherlands Royal Military Police announced on Wednesday.

One student got seriously injured and was transported to the hospital in Antwerp, Belgium, by a trauma helicopter. Thirteen others were slightly injured and taken to the hospital for a check-up.

The students, ranging in age from 16 to 18 years old, were surprised during a military exercise in the field on Wednesday morning local time. Several emergency services arrived quickly. What exactly happened is still unclear.
