DF-Xinhua Report
The Czech Senate approved on Wednesday evening a draft constitutional lawsuit against President Milos Zeman over his suspected breach of the Constitution.
Forty-eight senators out of 75 voted in favor of the action while 20 were against it, and seven abstained. To make it through, a three-fifth majority of all senators present, or 45 votes, was needed at least.
But for the Constitutional Court to deal with the lawsuit, the lower Parliament, or the Chamber of Deputies, must also agree with it, with the votes of 120 deputies.
However, this is unlikely to happen considering the distribution of forces in the lower chamber, local media reported.
