The Polish Government Security Center (RCB) reported on Monday that 11 people drowned in Poland over the weekend, bringing the total number of those drowned to 211 since the beginning of June.

Accidents over the weekend occurred in Pomeranian, Swietokrzyskie and Lesser Poland voivodship, as well as the capital city Warsaw, RCB announced on its Twitter account.

According to data, 211 drownings have been reported since the beginning of summer. From April 1, there have been already 270 cases.

RCB regularly warns the public of safety when swimming or playing in the water. It advises that people should always follow the safety instructions, do not jump into the water in unknown places, do not swim immediately after meal, and swim only in places designated for swimming.

As in many other European countries, Poland experienced a record high temperature in June. People have turned to water front like seaside or lakes to spend their holidays.
