Ex first minister of Scotland accused of rape, sexual assaults

The former First Minister of Scotland, Alex Salmond, appeared at the High Court in Edinburgh on Thursday to face 14 allegations of offences against 10 women.
The charges include one count of attempted rape, 11 counts of sexual and indecent assault and two common law charges of indecent assault, according to local media reports. The offences are alleged to have happened between June 2008 and November 2014.
Salmond has repeatedly denied the charges.
He served as first minister between May 16, 2007, and Nov. 20, 2014.
The judge has set the preliminary hearing for Jan. 22, 2020, and set a trial date for March 9, which is expected to last four weeks.
