Multiple arrests in Netherlands for group rapes

In an extensive investigation into group rapes, multiple arrests were made at several locations in the Den Bosch region on Tuesday, Dutch police announced.

Eight men between the age of 18 and 26 years from Den Bosch and Rosmalen, cities in the southern province of North Brabant, were arrested and their homes were searched.

Earlier this year, three teenage girls from Den Bosch separately reported to the police about the rapes by boys at different times. In all cases the girls had come into contact with members of the group through social media.

According to the police, the girls were probably drugged and abused by several boys from the group and sometimes violence was used. The abuse took place at a garage company in Den Bosch.

The police investigating team has indications that more girls were victims of the group, but they stayed silent out of fear for the boys.
