Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BFSA) has found three shipments of salmonella-contaminated chicken meat coming from Poland with a total weight of 50.05 tons, the agency said Tuesday.
The meat was not allowed for sale in Bulgaria, the agency said on its website.
"The salmonella found is from a strain that is not pathogenic to humans," it added.
The BFSA has prepared a notification to the Polish authorities about the detected contamination, it said.
