Avalanche kills 2 in southeastern France

An avalanche in Savoie, a department in southeastern France killed two skiers and injured another on Thursday, according to local report.
The avalanche in Toussuire ski resort occurred at an altitude of 1,850 meters, sweeping a group of four skiers, Le Dauphine Libere, a French provincial daily newspaper, reported on its website.
Two people died after the avalanche rushed down an off-piste in the ski resort at peak winter holidays. One skier was wounded and another was reported missing, according to the report.
The avalanche risk in the Alpes Maritime mountain range was increased to 4 out of 5-scale alarm system due to weather conditions and heavy snowfall in recent days.
