London police said Friday they had arrested another teenager after acid was thrown in people's faces in five attacks over one night here.

The 15-year-old boy, along with the previously arrested 16-year-old boy, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and robbery after the spate of acid attacks were reported in the city within 90 minutes of each other on Thursday.

The Metropolitan police said in a statement that the suspected attackers were currently in custody at an East London police station.

Two men on a moped are suspected of having carried out the attacks in Hackney, Stoke Newington and Islington, on Thursday night, the statement said.

One of the victims suffered "life-changing injuries" the police said.

The assaults occurred amid increasing concern about the drastic rise in acid attacks in the city.

Local media said that since 2010 there have been more than 1,800 reports of attacks involving corrosive fluids in the capital. Last year, it was used in 458 crimes, compared to 261 in 2015, according to police figures.
