British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his fiancee Carrie Symonds announced the birth of a son on Wednesday.
A statement released by the couple said they had a "healthy baby boy at a London hospital earlier this morning".
A spokeswoman for the prime minister and his partner said both mother and baby were "doing very well".
In the statement, the couple also thanked the National Health Service (NHS) maternity team.
The prime minister, who has just recovered from COVID-19, was present throughout the birth in the hospital, reported the BBC.
Johnson, 55, and Symonds, 32, were engaged last year and announced in March that they were expecting a baby in "early summer".
Johnson returned to work in Downing Street on Monday after a battle with coronavirus. Symonds had previously also suffered symptoms of the disease.
