Six people were injured in two separate knife attacks in a small town near the Austrian capital here on Wednesday night, including a 19-year-old suspect who was arrested on Thursday, according to local police.

The suspect is an Austrian citizen, who injured a person at one location in Baden town and then attacked four other people near a food market in the town, said police spokesman Raimund Schwaigerlehner.

A relationship conflict may have been a motive for the attack, as one of the injured, a 16-year-old, is said to be the suspect's ex-girlfriend.

The suspect, who also got hurt, may have caused cuts on his arm himself, and a knife was also seized when he was arrested, Schwaigerlehner said.

None of the victims in the attacks suffered life-threatening injuries, Schwaigerlehner added.
