4 children killed in traffic accident in France

Four children were killed Tuesday in a road accident in l'Aisne in northern France, local authorities said, reported Xinhua.

"The dramatic accident" involving five vehicles happened at 3 p.m. local time (1300 GMT) in the northern commune of Laon, l'Aisne prefecture wrote in a Twitter message.

Four young victims aside, a female driver was seriously wounded and was transported to hospital by helicopter and another person suffered slight injuries, it added, citing a provisional toll.

An investigation was underway to determine the cause of the fatal accident.
