Birmingham stabbings kill 1, injure 7

UK police have launched a murder investigation after stabbings in Birmingham killed one and injured seven during the early hours of Sunday morning, reported Xinhua.

West Midlands Police confirmed that the incidents taking place between 12:30 a.m. and 2:20 a.m. are linked and that the police are doing all they can to find whoever was responsible.

A man has died, and another man and a woman suffered serious injuries. Five others were also injured, according to the police.

The police said detectives are following a number of lines of inquiry and have increased uniformed and armed response in the city.

The police have declared the stabbings a major incident.
