9 killed, 10 hospitalized due to wildfires in Ukraine

As of midday Thursday, nine people have been killed and ten hospitalized due to fires in the eastern Luhansk region of Ukraine, according to the State Emergency Service, reported Xinhua.
"Nine people died, and 10 people were hospitalized ... 120 people were evacuated," the agency said on its website.
Two planes and a helicopter were involved in extinguishing the fire covering about 9,300 hectares, head of the Luhansk regional state administration Sergey Gaidai said, adding that about 250 buildings were damaged.
There are 1,247 people and 209 pieces of equipment involved around the clock in extinguishing the fires at six main sites.
