7 dead after drinking bootleg alcohol in Turkey

Seven people died and 19 others were hospitalized after drinking bootleg alcohol in Turkey, local media reported on Friday, reported Xinhua.
During the last three days, eight people became ill and were rushed to hospitals after consuming alcohol at different times in the central province of Kirikkale, the Sozcu daily said.
It added that seven of them died on Friday, and one person was in critical condition.
Meanwhile, at least 18 people have applied to the emergency services of various hospitals with methyl alcohol poisoning complaints since this morning in the western province of Izmir, according to the NTV broadcaster.
All of those in the hospitals were severe cases, it said.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident and detained at least 10 people in Izmir, press reports said.
