Three people were killed in a fire aboard Russia's fishing vessel Sveaborg at the port of Las Palmas in Spain's Canary Islands, reported Xinhua, quoting media.
Another four people were sent to a hospital on the island of Gran Canaria with the symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning, Russian media outlet Sputnik reported on Saturday.
The blaze broke out in the ship's engine room on Thursday afternoon while the Sveaborg was alongside the pier in Las Palmas, according to an online story carried by industry news website maritime-executive.com.
The three deceased were all members of the crew, and their bodies were found later, the website said. The fire was extinguished by Thursday night.
The causes of the fire remained unknown, but the vessel was undergoing repairs when the incident took place, Sputnik said.
