Spain's National High Court in Madrid released on Thursday Shalh El Karib, one of the four people arrested over the twin attacks last week in Barcelona and Cambrils.

The court said El Karib has been released on certain conditions, due to a lack of evidence against him. He is required to show up in court once a week while his passport has been confiscated. He is not allowed to leave the country and still under investigation.

El Karib worked at an Internet cafe in the northeastern town of Ripoll, where the 12-people cell behind the attacks were allegedly formed. He would have bought plane tickets for some members of the cell.

Another man, Mohamed Aalla, arrested over the attacks that killed 15 people in Barcelona and Cambrils was also released on certain conditions this week. Two others were sent to prison.
