8 killed in minibus-lorry crash in Britain

Eight people were killed on Saturday in a crash involving a minibus and two lorries on the M1 motorway near Milton Keynes, a large town located about 72 km northwest of London.

The accident took place on the southbound carriageway at Newport Pagnell in Buckinghamshire just before 03:15 BST.

Local police said the minibus was believed to have travelled from the Nottingham area. Four people have been taken to hospital.

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and are in police custody.

The M1 is a south-north motorway in England connecting London to Leeds, where it joins the A1 near Aberford.
