3 dead in Moscow apartment fire

Three people were killed and 14 others injured in a fire that scorched a residential building in a Moscow suburb on Saturday afternoon, reported Xinhua.

Two children were among the deceased, the Russian Emergencies Ministry said.

The blaze, which has been put out, started in an apartment on the second floor and engulfed balconies up to the ninth floor, according to TASS news agency.

Two ambulance helicopters have taken some of the injured to a hospital. What caused the accident remains unclear.
