Russian anti-submarine planes patrol North Sea, Atlantic

Two Tu-142 long-range anti-submarine aircraft of the Russia Northern Fleet conducted a planned flight above the North Sea and the northeast Atlantic on Monday, reported Xinhua.
The planes were accompanied by Russia's Su-33 fighters over the Barents Sea in the initial phase of the flight, which lasted for a total of about 11 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
The Russian aircraft were escorted by Norwegian F-16 fighters over the Norwegian Sea and British Typhoon fighters above the North Sea.
The Russian planes strictly complied with international rules for the use of airspace, the ministry said.
