1 killed in shooting outside Paris hospital

One person was killed and another injured on Monday afternoon in a shooting in front of the Henry-Dunant hospital in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, reported Xinhua, quoting local media reports.

One of the victims is a hospital security guard. The shooter is on the run and the judicial police are investigating the incident, the French cable channel BFM TV reported.

The Paris prosecutor's office has opened a murder investigation over the shooting, suggesting the case appears not to be terrorism-related.

An investigation has been opened for "assassination and attempted assassination" in this case, a spokesman of the prosecutor's office told local media.

The shooter, who fled on a motorcycle, is still on the run, according to reports.
