Russia adds 21,624 COVID-19 cases

Russia confirmed 21,624 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, taking the nationwide tally to 6,600,836, the official monitoring and response center said Sunday, reported Xinhua.

During the period, the nationwide death toll grew by 816 to 170,499, while the number of recoveries increased by 16,426 to 5,884,316.

Meanwhile, Moscow, Russia's worst-hit region, reported 1,954 new cases, taking the city's total to 1,542,159.

As of Saturday, over 32 million people in Russia have been fully vaccinated, around 22 percent of its population, according to the center.
