Sex doll abandoned in German woods mistaken for child's body

Police in western Germany are investigating a bizarre case involving a sex doll that was abandoned in a wooded area and mistaken for a child, reported dpa.

A passer-by alerted police after discovering a box from which legs and long blond hair peeked out.

Initially, it was assumed a corpse had been found, the police in Offenbach, a city near Frankfurt, said on Friday.

But at the scene in the Rodenbach area officers quickly realized it was a sex doll that resembled a child.

The police are investigating the incident as a case of illegal waste disposal and also for "putting sex dolls with childlike appearance on the market."
