BioNTech announces big rise in profits for Q3

The coronavirus vaccine manufacturer BioNTech generated a net profit of around 3.2 billion euros in the third quarter of 2021, reported dpa.
Profits in the first nine months of the year rose to 7.1 billion euros, the German company announced on Tuesday.
A year ago, it reported losses of around 210 million in the third quarter and 352 million euros over nine months.
Turnover, which is mainly driven by the success of the coronavirus vaccine produced jointly with US partner Pfizer, rose to just under 6.1 billion euros between July and September, compared with 67.5 million euros in the same period last year.
Between January and the end of September, turnover was 13.44 billion euros compared with just under 140 million euros a year ago.
